🪷 Intro:
Welcome to the first bloom of the Waterlily & Clay blog.
Here, I’ll share soft reflections, behind-the-scenes stories, and little moments of handmade life. I thought I’d begin with a quiet introduction — to the name, the art, and the feeling I hope this space gives you.
Why I Chose the Name “Waterlily & Clay”
Waterlilies represent stillness, softness, and nature’s poetry. Clay brings grounding and warmth. I feel the combination accurately represents my aspirations for my work. To bring those feelings of nature’s elegance and warmth to others.
What Inspires My Work
I love all things water and flowing. The movement and serenity soothe my soul and inspire me to let my creativity flow similarly. My art style leans soft, romantic, and sometimes storybook-like.
My Process in the Studio
My prints start out as original oil pastel drawings that are digitized and printed on textured linen cardstock to capture the beautiful texture that comes with oil pastels.
Thank you for being here — whether you’re browsing, shopping, or just slowing down with me.
